John is the Director of North American Operations for D&A Advisory. John recently completed five-plus years at a major accounting and consulting firm for the U.S. Government in Washington, D.C. As a principal at this firm, John designed and built the firm’s security program to become a world-class 24/7 security operation exceeding the strict U.S. government requirements to protect people, proprietary and classified information, and property. John has consulting experience working with Fortune 500 companies and others in the USA.
John retired as an Office Director and Supervisory Special Agent with the US Department of State’s Diplomatic Security Service (DSS); the security and law enforcement bureau protecting US embassies and consulates worldwide. In this role, John managed a ½ billion-dollar security budget, 1,300 staff, and 136 US facilities nationwide. Those facilities included the residence of the Secretary of State, Secretary of Defense, and the President of the United States’ official guest house, The Blair House, and the State Department’s Washington, D, C. hqtrs. John has extensive experience managing and working in major international events; counterintelligence operations; criminal investigations and training; physical and residential security and training to include Active Shooter; evacuations;, intruder; passport and visa fraud; surveillance detection; protective security operations; kidnapping; media relations; and combat medical training. He has worked in more than 65 countries (primarily non-permissive) and had permanent Regional Security Officer US Embassy assignments in Baghdad, Iraq, Beijing, China, Moscow, Russia, and Dublin, Ireland. John has also worked as a private senior security consultant to assist several Fortune 500 and smaller companies in solving their most critical security issues.
