ABOUT

Timothy advises as a General Counsel for D&A in relation to its legal relationships with clients and internal legal risk management and issues.

Timothy is a foreign attorney in DR & AJU LLC’s International Practice Group with over 15 years of experience. His practice focuses on both commercial transactions and cross-border disputes. In addition, Timothy also focuses a large area of his practice on data protection and technology-related matters. Prior to joining DR & AJU, Timothy worked at Linklaters in London and at Lovius Block in South Africa. His main practice being commercial litigation and arbitration, Timothy represented clients in various high-risk cases. Since 2016, he set up DR & AJU’s Africa Team along with Ms. Kyeong (Catherine) KIM, with his background and connection to Africa, he works closely with the Korea-Africa Foundation in Korea as a member of their Af-PRO committee and also chairs the South African Chamber of Commerce in Korea. Timothy has also been appointed by the Korean Ministry of Justice to advise SMEs on international transactions and has been appointed by the Korean Commercial Arbitration Board to its panel of international arbitrators. With more than 8 years of experience in South Korea, Timothy is able to advise both domestic and foreign companies across an array of commercial issues and disputes in various jurisdictions to ensure the most practical approach and outcome to any matter. Notably, Timothy actively seeks the most cost-efficient and optimal solution to disputes as opposed to the general strategy of prolonging the litigation until the final verdict.
